Heartworm Medication an effective preventative strategy: Stop terror before it starts

Heartworm is a nasty and deadly condition for any pet to experience. As a pet owner, you want to make sure your dog does not become infected with heartworm parasites; the best way to ensure your pet’s health is to administer a monthly heartworm medication from a young age. If you were unaware of the risk, there is no better time to start than now.

Heartworm infection invades great numbers of hosts every year- and many infections will eventually prove fatal. Once a dog is infected with heartworm, there is little one may do to stop the fatality of this deadly disease. Early symptoms of heartworm disease are nearly impossible to spot. Prevention is the best and only way to make sure your dog does not die from heartworm infection.
Methods do exist for treating parasitic infections after they start. However, such options are more costly, much less effective, and not always successful in prolonging the infected dog’s life. Many owners of infected dogs agree that they wish they would have taken preventive measures prior to finding out their dog was a host body.
If you think your dog might have heartworm infection, make an appointment with your veterinarian as soon as possible. However, if no warning signs are visible you may wish to administer a simple heartworm prevention medication immediately, followed by on a monthly basis.
